About
Hi, I'm Daphne!
I’m a guide in South Africa.
I grew up in the Netherlands and about 6 years ago I went for the first time to South Africa for an internship.
I completely fell in love with this country and after spending more time in Africa at different Horseback safari companies, I decided I wanted to get my guiding qualifications.
So I studied for three years “Advanced Nature Guiding and Wildlife Conservation” in South Africa. After this I worked as a guide, doing horseback safaris, game drives, and walking safaris.
I have started my own company, called ” Wild Wanderer Safaris” and this company is mainly focused on walking safaris in Greater Kruger National Park.

Wild Wanderer Safaris
Wild Wanderer Safaris is a tour operator, offering private guided walking safaris to groups up to 8 people and tailor-made safaris to individuals.
My main focus is walking safaris, because most people that come to Africa only go on game drives. There is no better way to experience the African bush than to be immersed in the wilderness on foot.
On a walking safari you can truly experience nature and reconnect with yourself and learn how to be more present while walking safely in an amazing wildlife area of South Africa.
This kind of safari is for adventurers and nature lovers who are looking for a safari experience like no other. So if you are adventurous and you love nature, join me on one of my walking safaris and I will give you an authentic experience of the true South African Wilderness!
Mission
The mission of Wild Wanderer Safaris is to offer travelers an unforgettable and educational experience in the pristine wilderness of Africa. Our safaris are not only focused on exploring stunning landscapes and wildlife but also on learning about the local people and their culture, as well as efforts for conservation and the protection of endangered species. We aim to raise awareness among travelers about Africa’s challenges and how they can contribute to its preservation.
Additionally, our safaris support various non-profit organizations active in conservation and community development. By participating in our safaris, travelers directly contribute to these efforts.
Furthermore, we exclusively use accommodations that are sustainable and eco-friendly, minimizing our impact on the environment while simultaneously supporting the local economy. With this approach, we strive to transform travel into a positive force for nature and the communities we visit. Read more about this in our “Conservation” section.
Why Greater Kruger National Park?
The Greater Kruger National Park area has been my home for a long time, so I know this area very well and I have a lot of contacts here. I used to do Trails Guiding courses with several mentors in this area, some of whom I will be working with to offer the Primitive trails. These mentors are professional Wilderness Trails Guides, with thousands of trail hours experience each. Their passion and expertise, combined with years of experience leading Primitive Trails, equips them to skillfully facilitate enriching and meaningful personal and educational experiences.
I also used to live and work in the Greater Kruger National Park, so I have established an extensive network within the region, connected with various reputable safari companies, and acquired extensive knowledge about the best safari destinations!
Greater Kruger National Park boasts one of the finest and most diverse biospheres in Africa. Home to a vast diversity of wildlife and birdlife, the Greater Kruger is regarded as one of the greatest national parks and wildlife destinations in both Africa and the world!
