Discover a unique adventure with our 4-day camp-based trail. I handle the booking, so you can fully enjoy unforgettable moments in the African wilderness. During this trail, you’ll stay in a trail camp, completely off the grid, without modern amenities such as electricity or mobile reception. Fully immerse yourself in the natural environment while being off the grid, far away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. You even have the option to book a night on a Sleep-out platform, where you’ll sleep under the stars. Feel free to contact me for availability.

Their intimate trails camp, is situated in a 12,000-hectare private concession, providing exclusive access to ‘Big 5 territory’ previously unavailable to the public.
The Camp offers a comfortable escape with four en-suite explorer-style tents, ensuring a stylish and immersive experience in the wild. Led by expert guides committed to responsible eco-tourism, their walking safaris prioritize ethical encounters with wildlife while contributing to conservation efforts. Experience morning walks, afternoon game drives, and evenings around the campfire, accompanied by chef-prepared meals.
Take a unique journey from Trails Camp to the Sleep-Out decks, elevated 4 meters above the ground. Spend the night under the stars in shade cloth tents, offering a treehouse-like experience with modern amenities.
Embark on a captivating journey tracking animals, and gaining insights into animal behavior and plant uses. Capture wildlife moments through photography, indulge in bird watching, and keep an eye out for glimpses of game and predators. Pause to study the small things, smell and taste wild herbs, and refresh in the shade.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Plains Camp
Upon arrival at the Safari Lodge, you’ll be just in time for your transfer to the Trails Camp. Once there, the guides will provide a tour of the surroundings and a comprehensive safety briefing. Following this, embark on your first short walk, followed by sundowners and a game drive. Returning after dark with spotlights allows viewing nocturnal animals on the prowl. Share drinks and stories around the fire before a delicious dinner with a South African twist. Then turn in and tune out, lying between cotton percale sheets on a comfy bed with nothing but a canvas to filter the night sounds of the bush.
Day 2: Walking Safari Adventure
Kickstart your day with an early morning walk, either on foot or by driving to a selected area before setting off on foot. Engage with two armed guides, exploring the wonders of the wilderness. The morning walk ensures a return to camp before the heat intensifies, covering 3–5 hours and 5–12kms. Enjoy tracking animals, and identifying spoor, dung, and plants. Return on time for a hearty brunch, followed by a swim, nap, or time spent spying on nature from the comfort of the camp. Indulge in high tea, followed by an optional walk to the Sleep-Out deck. Pause to appreciate the small wonders of nature, smell wild herbs, and relish refreshments under the shade of a tree. Delight in a sumptuous dinner on the Sleep-Out deck, surrounded by the enchanting night sky. Spend the night on the elevated wooden platforms, immersed in the ambiance beneath the stars.

Embark on an early morning walking trail, either on foot or with a drive to a designated area, exploring animal behavior and the cultural uses of plants and trees. Return for a hearty brunch, followed by leisure time or observation of nature from the comfort of the camp. Enjoy high tea, followed by a short walk, sundowners in the bush, and a game drive. Keep an eye out for game and predators, capturing photographic opportunities and bird watching. Gather around the campfire, sharing stories as the day concludes. Relish a South African-inspired dinner, and retire to your comfortable bed, surrounded by the night sounds of the bush.
Day 4: Finish Camp Based Trail
Conclude your camp-based adventure with a final morning walk or game drive, savoring the extraordinary moments in big game territory. After a hearty brunch, say goodbye as the guides drive you back to Rhino Post Safari Lodge.
