What is a Primitive Trail?
Embark on a 4-day primitive trail led by professional Wilderness Trails Guides, where you carry all your equipment on your back—sleeping bags, cooking equipment, trail food, and more. Traverse a Big 5 game reserve, home to Lions, Leopards, Buffalos, Rhinos, Elephants, and various wildlife species. Our experienced guides will educate you on everything nature has to offer, from tracks and trees to birds and animal behavior, along with survival skills.
Find a suitable spot each night to set up camp under the stars, without tents, reveling in the beauty of the night sky and the sounds of the bush. Cooking around a small campfire and collecting drinking water from riverbeds enhance the authentic experience. Every night, a ‘night watch’ duty ensures safety from potentially dangerous animals while everyone sleeps.
Our guides, with extensive qualifications and significant experience, prioritize your safety above all during the walking safari, ensuring your walks are enjoyable, informative, and secure. The main purpose of a walking safari is to provide an up-close and personal experience with wildlife. It’s not just about seeing animals from a distance—it’s about feeling the ground beneath your feet, hearing the rustle of leaves, and connecting with nature in an intimate way.
Tracking wildlife, appreciating the little details, and immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of the wild make this more than just a safari—it’s an adventure that places you right in the heart of the wilderness, enhancing your awareness of the environment and offering a unique perspective on the natural world.
