Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Sunset Safari
Arrive at Hoedspruit Airport in the morning and meet the group for a drive to a private safari camp in the heart of Greater Kruger National Park. After checking in and settling into the camp in the afternoon, embark on an exhilarating game drive, soaking in the breathtaking savanna landscape. Get acquainted with your fellow adventurers while enjoying a refreshing gin and tonic against the backdrop of the African sunset. As evening falls, savor a delectable home-cooked meal and unwind to the sounds of the bush around the campfire.
Day 2: Game Drives and Leisure Time
Rise before dawn for an early morning game drive, focusing on predators most active at sunrise. Pause for morning tea and coffee in a picturesque spot amidst nature. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast and enjoy leisure time during the late morning. Take a refreshing dip in the pool, observe wildlife at the waterhole, indulge in birdwatching, or simply relax on the deck with a book or beverage. In the afternoon, set out on another thrilling game drive, seeking out iconic African animals in their natural habitat. Conclude the day with another delicious home-cooked meal and the ambiance of the campfire.
Day 3: Start Primitive Trail
Embark on a final game drive in the morning before beginning the 4-day Primitive Trail. After breakfast, pack your backpacks and transfer to the trail meeting point. Meet the Trails guide, undergo a safety briefing, and venture into the wilderness to find a suitable spot to set up camp for the night. As evening descends, prepare your first trail dinner over the campfire, gaze at the stars from your sleeping bag, and immerse yourself in the tranquil sounds of nature during your “night watch duty.”
Day 4: Primitive Trail Adventure
Awaken before sunrise, possibly greeted by visits from nocturnal animals. Enjoy breakfast and pack up camp in the morning. Spend the daytime exploring the wilderness, tracking fresh signs of diverse wildlife, and taking a midday break to respect resting animals. Continue the adventure in the afternoon, searching for more signs of the wild and establishing a new campsite. Gather around the campfire in the evening to enjoy trail food, swap stories about the day’s adventures, and share expectations for the night ahead.

Day 5: Further Wilderness Exploration
As the sun rises on another peaceful night, wake up and savor a delicious breakfast as you prepare for today’s adventure. Delve deeper into the wilderness, following new signs of diverse wildlife. Take a midday break to honor the resting animals before continuing your exploration in the afternoon. Uncover additional signs of the wild and set up camp for the last night under the stars. As evening descends, gather around the campfire with your fellow adventurers. Share stories about the day’s discoveries and discuss your expectations for the unique encounters anticipated during your final night in the wilderness.
Day 6: Finish Primitive Trail and Continue Safari
Enjoy your final morning on the primitive trail, packing up camp before bidding farewell to the wilderness. Return to civilization and continue the safari adventure at a new camp. Refresh with a dip in the pool and prepare for an afternoon game drive. Appreciate a delightful cooked dinner in the evening and unwind for a restful night in your comfortable accommodation.
Day 7: Excursion to the breathtaking Panorama Route
After breakfast, embark on an excursion to the stunning Panorama Route. Marvel at its beautiful landscapes, impressive viewpoints, and natural attractions. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views, majestic waterfalls, deep gorges, and unique rock formations. Highlights include God’s Window, the Lisbon Falls, the Three Rondavels, and the Bourke’s Luck Potholes. In the evening, relish a delightful dinner and reflect on the week’s adventures.
Day 8: Excursion to Kruger National Park
Early in the morning, journey to Kruger National Park. Explore its rich history and diverse wildlife, including the Big 5 and many other mammals, bird species, and insects. The landscape offers mountains, plains, and tropical forested areas. In the evening, enjoy a delightful dinner and share stories about the beautiful sightings in Kruger.
Day 9: Goodbye’s
Enjoy your final morning game drive, seeking out any last sightings before bidding farewell to the wilderness. Pack your belongings, and after breakfast, head to the airport to say goodbye to the group. Fly back to Johannesburg or continue your journey, reflecting on the incredible moments and memories from your amazing safari.
